
Welcome to the Seascape & Surf photography workshop. This short photography course is run in beautiful Croyde Bay, Devon and is designed for beginners who are interested in turning OFF auto-mode and getting to know the capabilities of their camera. Within this workshop, we will use your camera's semi-automatic and manual modes to take photos with sharp backgrounds, blurred backgrounds and learn basic composition and natural light control.
We will also cover the following points which are imperative for creative control when practising Photography:
- Shutter Speed
- Aperture
- ISO
- Camera Buttons and Functions
- Depth of Field
- Capturing Movement (frozen and blurred)
- Capturing surfing action (surf conditions depending)
Course outline
10 am: Meet at Baggy's for an introduction to the workshop, talk about what you want to get out of the workshop, the 'Exposure triangle' (shutter speed, aperture, ISO), Depth of Field, operating semi-auto and manual controls on your cameras.
11.15 am: Off we go! Head on out either in the direction of Baggy Point or Croyde beach to put the theory of what we have learnt into practice. This is the time to get creative, get familiar with your camera's functionality and shoot the surf and seascape around us. I will be on hand to help you capture the perfect shot with lots of little hints and tips along the way!
1.15 pm: Back to Baggy's for an introduction into editing using Adobe Lightroom and a discussion of the photos captured and any questions you may have.
2.15/30 pm: finish
You will get a Basic Photography Guide in PDF format after the course.
